Full Story

We're raising $500 to feed 1,000 refugees in the Kakuma Refugee Camp (Located in Kakuma, Kenya) for an entire week. Every dollar goes directly to Fabiola, a Burundian mother, trained nutritionist, and founder of Amazing Food Company, who will hand-make every bag of porridge herself and deliver it to the families who need it most. When Fabiola Nzoyikorera arrived at Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya in 2021, she had no assets, no income, and no clear path forward. What she did have was expertise, a mother's instincts, and an eye she couldn't shut off. As a trained nutritionist, she immediately recognized what the camp's food rations were missing: not calories, but real nourishment. Even on the rare occasion that stomachs were full, children were still starving. Her own daughter got sick. Fabiola knew exactly why. And she decided she wasn't going to wait for someone else to fix it. With a small loan from Maak Impact and support from a few other services, Fabiola built Amazing Food Company from scratch inside the camp. She developed two signature porridge blends made from sorghum, millet, maize, soy, sesame, peanuts, and red kidney beans. Every ingredient is hand-sorted, sun-dried, and processed by Fabiola and her team. Nothing artificial. Nothing wasted. Today, her company produces over 1.5 tons of nutritious porridge flour every single month, employs 8 permanent and 11 part-time staff, most of them refugee women, and provides nutritious food to 320 vulnerable children and women every month. This campaign is simple and direct: $2 feeds one person for a week. Fabiola takes every contribution, purchases raw ingredients, makes the porridge herself, and distributes it to the families who need it most. The elderly, the disabled, orphaned children, and mothers who have nothing. Your $2 doesn't pass through overhead or a bureaucracy. It goes into a bag of porridge that lands in someone's hands in Kakuma. Please donate and help feed the hungry.
